Erika Ervin, an influential trans woman

Erika Ervin was born in 23 February 1979, she is a famous actress and model in American. She played an important role as Freak Show's Amazon Eve in American Horror Story. The original intention was to ask a man to play as a woman. So Erika Ervin dressed as a man in the audition. Chance favors only the prepared and brave mind. She won the role finally, and after that she told the director that she is transgender.

Erika Ervin came out as a trans woman in 2004. Like most transgender people, all her families didn't support her as a transgender woman. When she first came out as a trans woman in her family, most of her family members even refuse to communicate with her. "I have to create a new family", she said in BuzzFeed News. "Now, I have many friends from all over the world, sometimes they are closer than my families. For me, they are my families. I keep in touch with my friends in daily life and try to have a nice ts dating maybe someone of them is watching the show now, and I think they are so proud of me."

Ervin struggled with her height at a very young age. She was 5 feet 11 inches at the age of 14, even taller than most of her classmates and teachers. She was keep growing in the next few years, including tranny date. "When I was young, I saw myself as a monster, because I was different from most of people," said Ervin.

Let's back to her role in American Horror Story. When she was asked about the her role play in American Horror Story, she pointed out the sexism in the interview. "In the 1950s, a woman with the height like her would be pushed out to play the role of a man, but I cannot understand why a woman should do like that, is it only because of her height?" said Erika. As the tallest female model in the world, Ervin is still faced with pressures from the society. She also realizes the women's pressure from physically shrink. "I've done a lot in the past, like wrestling, boxing, and other sport training to improve myself, and I think it is also a response to the pressure the outside world input to me." She used to work as a fitness instructor, and she also studied law during that time.

As a transgender woman who is concern about health care, Erika spent many years to fight for health care of transgender people in California. She tried her best to reform and improve the health care system of transgender people. She is the hero of all transgender people. Today, advocacy is an important part of her life. "I was misunderstood as the spokesperson of transgender dating community, I not mean I don't want to be the spokesperson of transgender community, but I hope I can choose and decide to be the spokesperson by myself. I don't want to let other people make the decision for me." said Erika. Of course, she is one of the most influential transgender women in the world.
